Policy Statement

The Collaborative Engineering Program of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville recognizes that a student may have already earned undergraduate credits from other institutions. A student interested in obtaining a degree through the Collaborative Engineering Program may request the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to evaluate his or her transcript(s) to determine what credits will be accepted from other accredited institutions.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville has established the following transfer policies:

Evaluation Request

A prospective student of the Collaborative Engineering Program who has not yet applied to UW-Platteville may speak with one of the three Program Managers to determine if an evaluation of his/her transfer credits is necessary.

If you are interested in attending one of the two campuses that offer on-site UW-Platteville faculty with face-to-face classroom instruction, you may contact the Program Manager at the campus clos-est to your residence:

You will be requested to send unofficial transcript(s) from each institution to be reviewed to the Program Manager. Please note: A separate transcript from each institution is required. If it is de-termined that an evaluation of the potential transfer credits is necessary, the Program Manager will send the student the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request Form and forward the transcript(s) to the Admission Advisor of the Collaborative Engineering Program.

Waiver & Test-Out Options

If you would like to be granted a waiver for a course, you must submit a letter of request for the specific course, your resume, and a thorough job description. If you would like to request the test-out option for a course, you may take the final exam and corresponding lab exam, if applicable. A nominal fee will be charged for this service. For further information, please contact one of the Program Managers.

Appeals Process

If a student does not agree with the results of the completed Credit Evaluation Form, he or she may appeal the decision. If this is the case, please contact the Program Manager who will provide you with the Transfer Course Petition Form along with suggestions regarding what additional information should be supplied for the disputed course(s).
