Students will be guided each step of the way. An advisor at the UW Colleges and an advisor at UW-Platteville will assist you in the selection of both pre-engineering coursework at the UW Colleges and the professional engineering coursework through UW-Platteville.

During your UW-Platteville advising session, you and your assigned advisor will discuss the course(s) you should take the following semester, as well as plan ahead for future semesters. Although each advisor will have their individual style of advising, it is recommended that you come to your advising session prepared with a list of items to discuss, a list of potential classes in which you are interested, and any additional resources necessary for a beneficial advising time. At the conclusion of your advising session, the advisor will give you a PIN number which will enable you to register online through the UW-Platteville Pioneer Access Student System (PASS).
The EE Department Chair will begin advising electrical engineering majors in the streaming video program as soon as the student completes Calculus I. The advisor's role is to help students choose the professional electrical engineering streaming video courses and, if applicable, the appropriate math, science and pre-engineering courses offered by the UW Colleges. Note: If you are pursuing your Associate degree, you will also be working with your UW Colleges advisor to complete your general education requirements. The Statewide Program Manager will advise mechanical engineering majors in the streaming video program until the student has completed their General Engineering requirements and have matriculated into the ME Department. At that point, the ME Department Chair will advise students regarding the professional mechanical engineering courses through graduation. Note: If you are pursuing your Associate degree, you will also be working with your UW Colleges advisor to complete your general education requirements.
