  • The transfer of credits into any engineering program must be approved by the appropriate department chair. All transfer credits must follow the specific requirements of the professional program which the student will be entering, including any specific grade requirement(s).
  • Pass/fail or “D” grades are generally not transferable into engineering.
  • It is understood that students entering engineering with an Associate of Arts or Science degree from the UW Colleges, a four-year UW System institution or from the Illinois or Highland Community Colleges will have satisfied the general education requirements for UW-Platteville.
  • Students transferring from programs that are not ABET accredited may be required to substantiate their expertise in the topics in question.

  • UW System's Transfer Information is a database of all transfer credit equivalencies within the UW System, UW Colleges, and Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
  • Transfer Evaluation System is a database of all transfer credit equivalencies for all out-of-state institutions, as well as private Wisconsin colleges and universities. If UW-Platteville has previously reviewed a course it should shou up in this database.


A prospective student of the Collaborative Engineering Program who has not yet applied to UW-Platteville may contact the UW-Platteville Collaborative Engineering to determine if an evaluation of his/her transfer credits is necessary.

The student will be requested to send unofficial transcript(s) from each institution to If it is determined that an evaluation of the potential transfer credits is necessary, the appropriate department chairs will be asked to evaluate the courses. Depending upon the time of year, the credit evaluation process can take six to ten weeks.
