ACADEMIC STAFF LECTURER IN CHEMISTRY
Applications are
invited for a 1.5 year academic staff lecturer in physical chemistry or
biochemistry starting August 20, 2007 (possible renewal pending continued
funding for 3.5 years). The successful candidate will be teaching Physical Chemistry I and II or Biochemistry, general chemistries, and potentially Quantitative Analysis lecture and/or
laboratories.
Candidates must have
an A M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry. ABD is acceptable for Ph.D.
candidates only. (Doctorate must be
completed by July 1, 2007). One year of teaching experience is required (TA at
graduate-level is acceptable). Two
separate semesters of TA experience meets the requirement. Commitment to fostering and increasing
UW-Platteville diversity is required.
This must be addressed in a written statement as part of the
application. The successful candidate
must be able to teach Physical Chemistry (CHEM 4130 and CHEM 4230) and General
Chemistry for Engineers. Ability to
teach Biochemistry (CHEM 4630) will be acceptable in the event that a
Physical Chemist is added to the faculty in the on-going, separate Tri-State
Initiative (TSI) tenure-track search.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Applicants not addressing campus
