Filtration transfer
Allow the solid to settle to the bottom of the flask. Decant
the liquid into the center of the funnel, being careful not to
let the level of liquid rise too high. Using a rubber policeman,
scrape as much solid into the funnel as possible. For a quantitative
transfer, swirl a little of an appropriate cold solvent in the the flask
to transfer the last bit of solid to the funnel. (An appropriate solvent
is one that will not dissolve an appreciable quantity of solid from the
filter; usually the solvent from which the solid was just separated is
appropriate.)
