Preventing solid from passing through the filter paper

Since solid has gone through the filter paper, the only solution is to filter the sample again. In the next filtration, the student could try using a finer grade of filter paper or using two pieces of filter paper. In addition, the student should be sure to wet the paper before beginning the filtration.
