The students are examining the tube from different angles,
so they will see slightly different wavelengths. To see more similar
wavelengths, they should position their spectroscopes at approximately
the same distance and angle from the emission tube.
When measuring a spectrum, the spectroscope slit should be aligned with the tube,
so the student on the left obtained a more correct reading.
