Cleaning the Syringe
First draw distilled water (or other appropriate solvent, as directed
by your instructor) into the syringe and expel it onto a paper towel.
Wipe the tip of the needle with a laboratory tissue.
Next rinse the inside of the syringe with the sample to be injected
into the gas chromatograph. Draw the sample solution into the
syringe and expel it onto the paper towel. Again, wipe the needle
with a laboratory tissue. Rinse the syringe several times.
