Strategic Plan
- Recruit 400 students for year four of the Tri-State Initiative; retain 80% of fall 2007 TSI students
Theme: High Quality Education
- Enhance assessment of general education program
- Integrate general education into professional programs
- Identify and promote improvements based on assessment
- Develop implementation plan for nanotechnology/MEMS academic program
- Successfully complete accreditations by NAIT and for Project Management
- Complete the planning for an academic major in Forensic Investigation
- Add five classrooms in the lower level of Karrmann Library
- Complete planning and initiate construction of science laboratories in Boebel Hall

- Consolidate academic support services

- Offer diversity training and education to frontline staff

- Develop a “first-year experience” program

- Assess and address recreational and athletic program and facility needs based on increased enrollment and develop comprehensive plan
- Plan and initiate construction of an addition to the Williams Fieldhouse

- Centralize administrative services for international programs
- Review and update international exchange partner agreements

- Establish an Entrepreneurial Education and Business Center
- Establish a Confucius Institute on campus
- Create a plan for beef center and research laboratories at Pioneer Farm
Theme: Distance Education
- Implement the Project Management masters degree program in Wuhan China
- Increase enrollment for online graduate degree programs
- Expand statewide engineering initiative to Waukesha and Washington counties

- Enhance and expand dining, recreational, programming and convenience services in Glenview Commons
- Continue to explore new entrepreneurial activities for campus
- Continue planning for new campus entrance
- Implement Phase I of Voice over Internet Protocol phone system
- Implement electronic document imaging system
Theme: External Support
- Continue to nurture and grow regional economic development initiatives
- Grow the Community Scholarship Program, endowing 25 scholarships
- Complete fund raising for new engineering building, Ottensman Hall, Williams Fieldhouse, the Pioneer Museum, Swine Center and Pioneer Gardens
- Initiate fund raising projects for the art building and for the beef operation at Pioneer Farm as well as for special university initiatives
