Strategic Plan
- Recruit 400 TSI students for the 2010-2011 academic year
Theme: High Quality Education
- Develop and adopt new model for general education
- Implement the Measure of Academic Proficiency & Progress, as part of the Voluntary System of Accountability
- Receive entitlement to plan a major in sustainable & renewable energy systems
- Receive approval to implement the academic major in forensic investigations
- Implement academic minor in social & environmental justice
- Review and streamline all sub-majors, i.e., minors, concentrations, emphases, options
- Increase projects undertaken by Nanotechnology Center for Collaborative Research & Development (NCCRD)
- Complete phase I and plan phase II renovation of Boebel Hall
- Initiate planning for phased renovation of Ottensman Hall
- Complete characterization laboratory in Engineering Hall
- Complete forensic investigation crime scene facility at Pioneer Farm
Theme: Academic Advising
- Review transfer student policies/procedures
- Implement midterm D/F notification to students
Theme: Human Resources
- Conduct emergency preparedness training and exercises
- Implement employee training for DataMart, Brio, and ACCESS
- Expand advancement/admission collaboration: Team 341
Theme: Scholarly and Professional Development
- Expand first year experience program
- Implement programming to assist non-traditional and transfer students to acclimate to UWP
- Increase number of projects, faculty/staff, students (to 1500), and community involved in Pioneer Academic Center for Community Engagement (PACCE)
Theme: Student Development
- Complete phase I addition to and upgrades Pioneer Activity Center and gymnasium at Williams Fieldhouse
- Expand development of Students Promoting Respect (SPR)

- Plan and implement Inclusive Excellence initiative across campus
- Developing action plans based on UWP’s Equity Scorecard
- Implement strategic plan to recruit/retain females in science-technology-engineering-mathematics (STEM) academic programs
Theme: Culture
- Increase students participating in learning abroad programs
- Increase number of students participating in and attending on-campus fine arts and multi-cultural events and forums
- Expand on campus and community programming by the Confucius Institute
Theme: Outreach
- Research Adult Student Initiative for degree completion
- Complete plans for beef center and priority projects at Pioneer Farm
Theme: Distance Education
- Develop action plans for strategic plan for distance education
- Develop technology enhancements for distance education classes, student services, and marketing/recruitment
Theme: Fiscal Resources
- Complete plans for renewable energy projects on campus
- Implement collaboration software suite to replace existing email and calendaring software
- Develop and implement campus sustainability initiatives
- Implement upgrade to PeopleSoft 9.0
- Plan and begin construction of Auxiliary Services storage building
- Implement visual imaging plan for campus promotion and documentation
Theme: External Support
- Complete fundraising for beef center
- Continue fundraising on major capital projects including Boebel and Ottensman Hall renovations and phase II Williams Fieldhouse addition
- Increase number of employees writing and submitting grant proposals
