PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project will encompass a school-wide interdisciplinary approach to the topic of cultural diversity. The broad scope of cultural differences will be narrowed to focus on the differences and similarities in the community. Since the topic will cross curriculum boundaries, the resources will vary to include literature, local history, artistic genres, science and technology and a wealth of community members. Diverse methodologies will be incorporated in the classroom instruction including, but not limited to corporative learning, role playing, hands-on activities, oral presentation, and visual projects\displays. Learning may extend beyond the classroom to include visitations to community sights, speakers, and cultural events. These diverse methods recognize the multiple intelligences of both the student and the instructor.
