It has been determined that reimbursing this applicant for interview expenses
is a necessary part of an effective recruiting process. It is the policy of
UW-Platteville to invite candidates for faculty positions to our campus for personal
interviews at University expense whenever an applicant is seriously being considered for a position.
This policy is based upon the conviction that the University benefits by encouraging
highly qualified candidates to visit our campus. It is not in the best interest of the
University to expect an interview candidate to absorb travel expenses, as this could be a
deterrent to highly qualified applicants who may decline to interview based on the cost of travel
expenses. This is especially true for those who must travel a great distance.
Because of this reasoning we hope to attract highly qualified candidates.
