*TRAVELPORT*

TravelPort is our new online booking tool for airfare and is part of a mandatory contract the State of Wisconsin has entered into with Fox World Travel. This contract is mandatory for any individual or small group (seven or less) wishing to book airfare online. TravelPort requires the use of the State of Wisconsin Travel Credit Card. Employees who choose not to use the internet for booking airfare may continue to use the brick and mortar travel agency of their choice. The TravelPort navigation is at the left on this page and has information on registration, profile set-up, and Q&A. The TravelPort program is mandatory for UW-Platteville beginning Oct. 15, 2007. After following directions for registering and setting up a profile, you may get to TravelPort via Internet Explorer (it doesn't work in FireFox) by pasting this link and then making it a favorite for future use. (http://portals.foxworldtravel.com/University). If you wish to contact Fox World Travel to purchase a ticket for a non-employee to travel with you, you can call them directly at 866-230-8787. There is additional cost for this service.

New Travel Policy Changes

Travel News Regarding Social Security Numbers:

The Travel Expense Reports and Contingency Fund Requests submitted for travel advances no longer require a full social security number but instead only the last four digits (Ex: xxx-xx-6666). This is true for all travelers who have previously submitted a travel expense report and are in our system. Travelers who have not previously submitted a travel expense report must fill in their full social security number.

Car Rentals

• May not use contract rates for personal travel.
• Must be UW-Platteville Authorized Driver to rent a vehicle.
• Must check availability of UW-Platteville Fleet vehicle before renting vehicle (nonavailability slip will be required for reimbursement).

• If you rent through National consider becoming a member of the Emerald Club. Membership is free (a $50 value) and as a member you receive express service at all locations. At most airports you can bypass the counter and go directly to the car of your choice in the Emerald Club Aisle. To receive additional information contact Jean Bradley, Travel Manager.

Lodging

• Travelers must use contract hotels for travel in Wisconsin when available and when hotel rates comply with lodging maximums.

Travel Card

• It is recommended any faculty staff who anticipate that they will travel, should apply for and use the UW-Platteville Corporate card for University business travel. This should be done by October 17, 2005.

Mileage Reimbursement

• Anyone who is not a UW-Platteville Authorized Driver will be reimbursed at $0.32 per mile. This includes trips under 100 miles, travel to airports and visitors to campus.
• There is an exemption for visitors and guests.

Other Notes

• To become a UW-Platteville Authorized Driver you must fill out paperwork at the Purchasing Department in 2200 Ullsvik.
