Greetings and welcome to the School of Business!
The School of Business educates students for productive careers in a global business environment. We pride ourselves on the quality of our learning environment, our faculty, and our educational programs.
There are many reasons that students attend UW-Platteville and major in business administration and/or accounting. Our classes are small and are taught by faculty with extensive experience in their field of expertise. Our students have a high level of interaction with faculty and we help develop students' critical thinking skills through experiential learning activities, including internships.
We offer many different emphases within our business administration major: management; finance; sales and marketing communications; human resources; integrated supply chain; and international business. We also have a general emphasis.
Our accounting students receive extensive education in the accounting field including financial, management and cost accounting. Audit and tax areas are also covered. Those who finish the major are qualified to take the certified management accountant (CMA) examination and, after completion of 150 hours of college credit, the certified public accountant (CPA) examination.
Faculty personally advises our students here at UW-Platteville. Students are advised not only on academics, but on personal development and career development.
There are numerous opportunities for students to develop their leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Outside of class there are student organizations related to their interests. The UW-Platteville campus offers a wide variety of activities to enhance the student’s college experience.
In addition, we offer online master’s degree programs: Project Management; Distance Education Leadership; Integrated Supply Chain; and Organizational Change Leadership.
Employers seek out UW-Platteville business administration and accounting graduates. Our graduates have shown high levels of performance and our placement rates are excellent. Check out the Career Center for details.
Check us out; we’re ready to make your college experience great!
Dr. Susan Hansen,
Director, School of Business
