UW-Platteville's Ryan Higgins won the 149-pound title at the 34th annual Dick Walker Invitational in Cedar Falls, Iowa, highlighting the Pioneers' efforts in against an extremely strong field.
Higgins, who won the Elmhurst Invitational and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship last year, captured four matches in Cedar Falls. He topped Iowa Central's Matt Burns 13-12 in the semifinals and then won when Augustana's Ryan McMurtry declared a medical forfeit.
Zach Chambers placed fourth at 141 pounds, winning his first two matches by pin before being edged 12-9 in the semifinals by Coe's Jerad Gleason. He then beat Cornell's David Bossious 10-5 to move up to fourth place.
