The UW-Platteville wrestling team will bring its full lineup to compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships Sunday at Appleton West High School.

Coach Chris Walter's Pioneers were 2-4 in conference duals, although they missed some key people in different matches throughout the year. All 10 starters are now set to go for the conference meet.

"We'd like to finish in the top four in conference," Walter said. "I was a little disappointed the previous Friday how we wrestled (at UW-Whitewater), but I look for us to bounce back, like we've done all year."

The 10 conference champions and nine at-large wrestlers (as voted upon by the league coaches) advance to the NCAA III nationals, set for March 7-8 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Last season, three Pioneers made the national championships and two of those return. Jesse Milks is ranked fifth in the country at 157 pounds and brings a 27-4 record into the meet. Ryan Higgins, who earned all-American status last spring, is 23-6 at 149 pounds.

The full UWP lineup includes: Andrew Skog (6-12 season record) at 125, Spencer Peterson (13-17) at 133, Vinny Alber (27-6), at 141, Higgins, Milks, Carsten Carlsen (18-10) at 165, Cory Zuberbier (19-10) at 174, Brad Zellner (18-13) at 184, Michael Jackowski (18-14) at 197, and Cody Weber (10-7) at 285.
