UW-Platteville placed 11th in a loaded Dick Walker Invitational that included wrestlers from five of the top 10 NCAA III schools in the country.
Host Wartburg won the 15-team meet with 177.5 points, finishing well ahead of number-seven Coe with 115. The Pioneers were 11th with 48 points.
Ryan Higgins had the top finish for the Pioneers, placing fourth at 149. He won three matches, including one by a pin, on the day.
Vinny Alber (141) and Jesse Milks (157) took fifth in their weight classes. Alber won his first two matches and just about pulled a huge upset before losing to Zach McKray, ranked second in the country, in a close 3-2 match. Milks also took a nationally-ranked wrestler to the limit, falling 6-5 to Cornell's Pat McAuley, ranked fourth. Milks came back to pin North Central's Cowan Brown in 3:10 to claim fifth.
