UW-Platteville, wrestling without two of its top performers, fell to 11th-ranked UW-Whitewater 30-8 Friday in the Warhawks' Katchel Center.

The Pioneers were without injured Vinny Alber, who is 27-4 at 141 pounds, and Ryan Higgins, 23-7 at 149.

Jesse Milks and Cory Zuberbier each won by majority decisions for the Pioneers' eight points.

Milks defeated Gary Reid 20-6 at 157 pounds, improving to 28-5 on the season. Zuberbier won his 19th match, defeating Kule Geary 15-2 at 174.

UWP concludes the regular season at 5-6 overall and 2-4 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The Pioneers will seek to be back to full strength next Sunday (Feb. 24) at the WIAC championships, held at Appleton West High School.
