Jesse Milks won vs. UW-Oshkosh

UW-Platteville's Jesse Milks earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference wrestler of the week, for a busy stretch of Nov. 11-17.

Milks, a sophomore from Rock City, Ill. (Dakota High School), went 6-1 during the week. He moved up a weight class and defeated UW-Oshkosh's Brad Welter 14-3 at 165 pounds, helping the Pioneers defeat the Titans 31-10 on Thursday, Nov. 15. Wrestling back at 157, Milks went 5-1 at the 22-team Concordia University (Wis.) Open on Nov. 17. He won his first two matches by pins then fell 2-0 in the championship match to NCAA Division II national qualifier Craig Becker from UW-Parkside.

Milks, a national qualifier last year as a freshman, raised his career mark to 34-11. He and the Pioneers will be back in action Nov. 29 at UW-La Crosse.
