Stephanie Kirchner (pictured above; photo by Tyler Ensrude), a sophomore from Sussex, Wisconsin, was named the WIAC Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday. She was recently named to the UW-Platteville Invitational All-Tournament Team for her efforts, Sept. 9-10.
It was her second-straight All-Tournament Team honor as she also was recognized previously at the Trinity Fall Classic All-Tournament Team. During last weekend's UW-Platteville Invitational, Kirchner recorded double-digit digs in three matches and double-digit kills in two contests. She recorded 17 kills, 14 digs and seven blocks in the five-set win over Loras (Sept. 9). Kirchner had 14 kills and hit at a .519 clip in the four-set win over Central (Sept. 10).
The Pioneers are currently ranked No. 17 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and have won their last seven matches in a row, including two last night over Marantha Baptist Bible College and Edgewood.
