Samantha Rogers has been named assistant volleyball coach for the Pioneers, University of Wisconsin-Platteville head coach/assistant athletic director Deb Schulman announced Thursday.
“I am very excited to have Samantha Rogers join our volleyball staff. She is no stranger to UW-Platteville and she will bring a wealth of knowledge, energy and passion to both the volleyball program and the Physical Education Department. We are very fortunate to have Sam back to UWP and I am looking forward to working with her,” said Schulman.
Rogers returns to Platteville after turning around the volleyball program in the Forrest Valley School District. She guided a program from a below .500 mark to the conference title in 2010. She also directed the Freeport Fusion Volleyball Program for the last six years, serving as the site director and facility manager as well as the head coach. In 2007, she led Aquinas Catholic High School in Freeport to its first conference title in 16 years.
Rogers graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she was recognized on the High Honors Dean’s List. She has her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. She also has an associate of arts degree from Highland Community College.
