Newcomers Briana Kaiser and Samantha Rampart each made 16 kills, leading UW-Platteville to a five-set victory at Edgewood College Wednesday night.

The Pioneers beat the Eagles 25-14, 14-25, 24-26, 25-13, 15-7 in their five five-setter of the season. UWP improved to 2-3, while the Eagles fell to 1-5.

Kaiser is a Cuba City graduate who transferred from UW-Whitewater, and Rampart is a freshman from Westosha Central. Two-time all-conference player Lisa Bell added 12 kills in 20 attempts, while sophomore setter Ali Sikic made a season-best 51 assists.

The Pioneers have their home opener Friday in a triangular. UWP plays Coe at 4 p.m. and Carthage at 8 p.m., with Coe facing Carthage at 6 p.m. One ticket is good for all three matches.
