The UW-Platteville volleyball stopped a hot Beloit College squad, beating the host Buccaneers three sets to one Tuesday night.
The Pioneers won their third straight match with a 19-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-19 and improved to 9-6 overall. The Buccaneers fell to 13-4 and had their four-match win streak snapped.
Melissa Hillebrand led UWP with 16 kills, while Lisa Bell had 14, Melanie Bailiff recorded nine, and Samantha Rampart had 9. With 29 digs, Abby Carey paced the defense, and Bailiff added 21. Setter Kelsey Pustina, replacing Ali Sikic, dished out 49 assists in her Pioneer debut.
Coach Deb Schulman's squad competes in the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational Friday and Saturday.
