UW-Platteville made a successful Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season debut, beating host UW-Stevens Point 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Senior Rachel Chapman led the way with 15 kills for the Pioneers, who improved to 7-4 overall. Setter Ali Sikic recorded 34 assists, while libero Abby Carey led a balanced defensive effort with 17 digs.

The Pioneers return to action this weekend with two home conference matches. Coach Deb Schulman, who now has 492 career wins, brings her Pioneers into Williams Fieldhouse Friday to face UW-Superior at 7 p.m. and Saturday to play UW-Eau Claire at noon.
