UW-Platteville recorded its third straight 3-0 conference victory Wednesday, beating UW-Stevens Point 30-24, 30-23, 30-14, in Williams Fieldhouse.

The Pioneers moved up to a fifth-place tie in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings, with two matches remaining. The top four teams play host to opening round playoff games Oct. 30.

UW-Platteville is now 19-7 overall and 3-3 in the WIAC, while UW-Stevens Point fell to 14-8, 3-3.

The Pioneer defense held the Pointers to a .035 hitting percentage, making 63 digs and blocking six shots. Emily Walker paced a balace UWP offense with 11 kills and had 11 digs. Kelly Laschinger recorded 35 assists and 11 digs, while converting five of six kill chances. Rochelle Ripp had a team-high 14 kills.

On Friday, the Pioneers will shoot for 20 wins for the 15th time in Coach Deb Schulman's 20 years. UWP plays host to Coe in the final home regular-season match of the year at 7 p.m. The Kohawks beat the Pioneers 3-2 in the season's first home match.
