UW-Platteville rolled to its first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory, beating UW-River Falls 30-20, 30-24, 30-22 Friday in Williams Fieldhouse.
The Pioneers held the Falcons to a .000 hitting percentage while hitting .229 themselves. Lisa Bell had 10 kills, Rachel Chapman eight, and Emily Walker and Melissa Hillebrand seven each for UWP. Kelly Laschinger set up the offense with 38 assists.
UW-Platteville improved to 17-7 overall and 1-3 in the WIAC, while the Falcons fell to 5-16, 1-3.
The Pioneers are right back in Williams Fieldhouse Saturday at noon vs. UW-Stout, and the annual alumni game will follow. The Falcons travel to UW-La Crosse for Saturday's noon match. UW-L defeated UW-Stout 30-15, 30-14, 30-28 Friday night.
