UW-Platteville rebounded from a rough five-game loss Friday afternoon to blank three straight opponents and win the 2007 Impact Sports/Nike Invitational in Williams Fieldhouse.

The Pioneers lost 30-23, 26-30, 30-23, 30-32, 9-15 to Coe, then blasted Concordia (Wis.) 30-23, 30-27, 30-24, Edgewood 30-15, 30-18, 30-27 and Monmouth 30-28, 30-24, 37-35.

UW-Platteville tied Coe and Monmouth with 3-1 records, but the Pioneers had a better winning percentage in games, going 11-3. Coe was 11-7 and Monmouth 9-4.

Freshmen Emily Walker and Abby Carey both made the six-person all-tournament team for their all-around games this weekend. Walker had 28 kills, four service aces, digs and four blocks, while Carey served up five aces and made 25 digs. Team statistical leader for the weekend were Rachel Chapman with 49 kills, Stephanie Tronnes with seven blocks , Rochelle Ripp with nine aces and 60 digs, and Kelly Laschinger with 165 assists.

The Pioneers, now 6-3, play both Carroll ( 5 p.m.)and host Beloit (7 p.m.) Wednesday in Beloit's Flood Arena.
