UW-Platteville spotted Loras a one-game lead then roared back to win the next three to clinch the victory over the Duhawks.
The Pioneers improved to 3-2 on the young season with the 26-30, 31-29, 30-24, 30-18 victory in Dubuque. Loras fell to 3-1.
Sophomore Lisa Bell recorded 16 kills and put down five blocks. In all, the Pioneers out-blocked the Duhawks 11-6.
Emily Walker made 13 kills, and Rachel Chapman had 11 kills, with Walker digging 19 balls and Chapman 13. Stephanie Tronnes added 10 kills, and Kelly Laschinger recorded 56 assists.
UWP makes its home debut this weekend at the Impact Sports/Nike UW-Platteville Invitational. The Pioneers face Coe Friday at 4 p.m., Concordia at 8 p.m., Edgewood at 10 a.m. Saturday and Monmouth at 2 p.m. UW-River Falls is also at the six-team tournament.
