The UW-Platteville volleyball road show was a hit, more than 100 times over, Wednesday night in Beloit.

The Pioneers had a nearly flawlessly hitting match against Carroll, winning 30-16, 30-16, 30-19, then rolled up 64 more kills in beating host Beloit 24-30, 30-12, 31-29, 30-19.

UWP made just nine hitting errors against Carroll, recording a season-best .478 hitting percentage. Rachel Chapman had 12 kills and Lisa Bell 10 in the 53-kill effort. Chapman added five service aces and nine digs to her solid all-around match.

Against the Buccaneers, Chapman and Bell each had 16 kills, and Melissa Hillebrand 14, helping the Pioneer raise their record to 8-3. UWP also shone defensively, with a season-high 88 digs and 11 blocks. Rochelle Ripp led the defensive charge with 23 digs, while Chapman had 18 and Emily Walker 16.

Kelly Laschinger totaled 102 assists in the two matches and moved within seven of tying Rachel Huza (1995-98) for third place on the career list with 3,444.

The Pioneers return to action Friday and Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational.
