UW-Platteville made history in both the men's and women's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference indoor track and field championships Saturday in Williams Fieldhouse.
Ryan Kleimenhagen won two events, including the mile in conference-record time, while freshman Tracy Wilber became the first UWP woman to ever win the 55-meter dash.
Kleimenhagen won the mile in 4:10.24, and was followed at the finish line by freshman Tyler Sigl, who passed four runners in the final 125 meters to finish in 4:14.04.
Voted both the runner of the meet and the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete, Kleimenhagen finished his standout WIAC career by winning the 800 in 1:55.60. Cameron Klein surged to fourth in the 800 at 1:58.59.

Wilber blazed to a school-record 7.34 in the 55-meter dash, the first Pioneer to win that event in the 29 years it has been contested. Pioneer teammate Mary Johnson finished fourth in 7.48 and broke the UWP mark in the 200, taking fourth in 26.22.
Marcia Taddy shook off the effects of the flu to finish second in the mile run in 5:02.10 and fourth in the 800 in 2:17.6. Stephanie Martin placed fifth in the 800 at 2:21.47.
Jackie Mulrooney also fought through a painful injury to place second in the 3,000 run at 10:21.61. Russ Goessel placed fifth in the men's 3,000, finishing in 8:51.98.
In the field events, Jim Uppena placed fourth in the weight throw at 59-1.25, an NCAA III provisional mark and his season best.

The Pioneer men finished fourth, while the women were sixth. UW-La Crosse won both team championships.
