While several Pioneers took part in the Drake Relays over the weekend, the rest of the track and field teams matched up with many conference competitors at the Loras Open Saturday.
The Pioneers competed against UW-Whitewater, UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stevens Point among other schools at the non-scored event.
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships are this Friday and Saturday at UW-La Crosse.
Phil Johnson turned in the best Pioneer finish in Dubuque, placing second in the 100-meter dash in 11.30. Lindsey Vick was third in the 800-meter run in 2:23.96, while Carrie Morschauser was third in the high jump at 5-4.25.
The final day of the Drake Relays saw three Pioneer groups in action. The distance medley relay team of Anissa Szeterniak, Mary Johnson, Steph Martin and Marcia Taddy placed seventh out of 15 teams, while the men's 4x800 squad was 13th and the distance medley relay team 14th.
