For the second time in three weeks, UW-Platteville's Ryan Kleimenhagen and Marcia Taddy swept the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference runners of the week awards.
Both broke their own school records and automatically qualified for the NCAA III national championships while running against NCAA Division I competitors Saturday at the Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
Taddy, a sophomore from Two Rivers, broke her school record in the 800-meter run at 2:14.09. She was eighth against the strong competition at the University of Nebraska. Her time is also the best in Division III this season.
Kleimenhagen, a senior from Oak Creek, lowered his own school record and automatic qualifying time in the mile, while placing third in the Husker Invitational. His time of 4:05.18 is easily the best in NCAA Division III this season by almost eight full seconds.
