Nine UW -Platteville student-athletes earned All-Academic Track and Field Team honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.

Earning honors for Coach Jim Nickasch's men's team were Anthony Fontanini, Jason Garvens, Scott Howard, Tony Kilburg, Nathan Petesch, and Mitch Spees, while Pioneer women earning accolades were Alison (Ross) Glendenning, Jessica Scott and Ann Tank.

A total of 274 women and 186 men representing made up the 2009 All-Academic team. For conferences, the WIAC had the most student-athletes on the list with 35 women and 21 men.

The USTFCCCA honors Division III individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field season. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met the NCAA Division III indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in his or her respective event.
