
UW-Platteville's Tyler Sigl shattered his own school record in the 5,000-meter run at the Iowa State Track and Field Classic Friday night.
Sigl finished third among 37 mostly Division I runners in a time of 14:20.61, more than 11 seconds better than his previous school record and the best time in NCAA Division III this season.
Blake Boldon, of the Saucony Running Club, won in 14:05.54, while Iowa State's Kiel Uhl was second at 14:13.37, followed by Sigl, then Auburn's Scott Novak at 14:21.52 and Florida's Jeremy Criscione at 14:30.79.
The Pioneers' Tony Kilburg competed in the 800, placing 16th of 51 runners at 1:55.30 Friday night.
On Saturday, Emma Dreis competed in the mile run, placing 52nd out of 57 runners in 5:10.98.
