UW-Platteville's Marcia Taddy and Tyler Sigl both earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference track athletes of the week after winning the 1,500-meter runs Sunday.
Taddy won the 1,500-meter race at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Invitational in 4:34.39. Her time is an NCAA III provisional qualifying mark and is the fastest time in the country this season. She will compete at the Kansas Relays on Saturday in the College 800-Meter Run. She is in one of two seeded races of eight competitors in a race that has 99 entries.
Sigl won his 1,500-meter run at the in 3:53.89, an NCAA III provisional qualifying mark and is the sixth fastest time in the nation. He will take this weekend off from competing and gear up for the following week's 10,000-meter run.
Most of the Pioneers will compete in the Augustana Meet of Champions, with the women going Friday and the men Saturday.
