UW-Platteville's Marcia Taddy earned her second Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the Week Award this season after her performance Saturday, Feb. 3.
Running against NCAA Division I competition, Taddy ran the fastest 800-meter time in conference history. She ran 2:09.04 at the University of Nebraska's Frank Sevinge Husker Invitational. Not only did she beat her old school record of 2:15.03, she broke every other WIAC school's record in that event as well. (UW-Oshkosh's Liz Woodworth has the next fastest time at 2:11.35.) Taddy automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship with her performance in the event.
Taddy will lead a contingent of Pioneer runners to Iowa State Friday and Saturday. The other Pioneers will compete at the Eastbay Invitational at UW-Stevens Point.
