UW-Platteville's Mike Mani and Matt Bischoff finished first and second in the 55-meter dash title at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational, highlighting the Pioneers' performance on Saturday.
Mani ran 6.71 to capture the 55 meter dash title, while teammate Bischoff was close behind at 6.72.
The Pioneer men finished second, and the women finished third in their respective meets. The UW-Oshkosh Titans finished first in both the men's and women's meets, proving the home team does have the advantage.
Other winners included Mike Schmidt claiming the title in the high jump (6-4.5), along with Tony Fontanini taking the pole vault title for the second week in a row with a vault one inch from tying the school record. (16-0.25)
With a field dominated with NCAA Division I athletes, UW-Platteville's Marcia Taddy finished fourth in the 800 meter dash at the University of Nebraska's Frank Sevinge Husker Invitational.
Taddy, a senior from Two Rivers, beat her old school mark of 2:15.03 with a run of 2:09.04 on Saturday afternoon. With her run of 2:09.04, Taddy has been automatically qualified in the 800-meter dash at the NCAA Division III National Championships in March.
