
The record-setting UW-Platteville distance medley team earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference track athlete of the week honors.
The Pioneer DMR team conisted of Emma Dreis (So., Mazomanie/Wisconsin Heights), Bobbi Arand (So., Stockton, IL), Jessica Scott (So., Kiel), and Marcia Taddy (Sr., Two Rivers)
The UW-Platteville distance medley relay team won the UWP Open in 11:40.45, faster than any time ever in the WIAC and good enough to win any previous national championship. Dreis ran the first 1,200 meters in 3:31.5, Arand the 400 in 1:01.4, Scott the 800 in 2:18.1 and Taddy the final 1,600 in 4:49.4. The Pioneers automatically qualified for nationals by more than eight seconds.
The Pioneer track and field teams compete in the WIAC championships Friday and Saturday at UW-Whitewater.
