Colleen Lowe and Samantha Niemann Earn Recognition from WIAC

Ellyn GoerdtSophomore Colleen Lowe (pictured above) of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team received postseason recognition from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference coaches on Tuesday (Feb. 28). Lowe earned All-WIAC honorable mention honors from the league's coaches.

Lowe led the Pioneers with a .286 batting average with four doubles and four home runs. She also had a team-high 14 RBI and was second on the team with 14 walks. Lowe and the Pioneers picked up 15 wins, the most in six years.

The conference office also announced honorees from each of the softball squads for the WIAC Sportsmanship Award. An All-Sportsmanship Team is chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
