Despite collecting 21 hits, UW-Platteville dropped a doubleheader to UW-Superior Saturday, falling 6-3 and 14-6 at the UWP Softball Complex.
Superior totalled 24 hits on the day, including four home runs in the second contest. Becky Crane, Katie Moench, Courtney Pulsifer and Kacy Johnston all homered in game two.
Tera Burr and Abby Lalko each had three hits to pace the Pioneers in the opener, while Nikki Hansen had three in the nightcap.
The Pioneers fell to 7-11 overall and 2-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Yellowjackets improved to 13-7, 2-0.
UWP entertains UW-Eau Claire in a Sunday doubleheader, beginning at noon.
