UW-Platteville dropped two softball games in Florida Wednesday, losing 2-1 to Bridgewater State and 9-3 to Kean.
The Pioneers are now 3-3 on their southern trip, which includes two more games Thursday and two on Saturday.
UWP and Bridgewater State were scoreless until the sixth, when Nikki Hansen tripled and scored on Ashley Strnad's sacrifice fly. Bridgewater State, however, answered with two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth. Kayla Flynn's run-scoring single proved to be the difference. Katie Larson took her first loss of the year, despite yielding just four hits.
The Pioneers led 2-0 after one inning against Kean on Maggie Digman's two-run single. UWP was victimized by seven fielding errors, leading to six unearned runs. Tera Burr had three hits, while Hansen had two for the Pioneers.
