Edgewood College won two softball games over visiting UW-Platteville Monday, beating the Pioneers 1-0 and 8-2.
Both Pioneer pitcher Katie Larson and Eagle starter Kristin Borre threw three-hitters in the opener, but Edgewood pushed across an unearned run in the sixth inning to hand Larson a hard-luck loss. Larson struck out 10 Eagle batters.
The home squad scored all eight of its runs in the first two innings in the second game, including a home run by Kaitlin Herzog. Katie Jo Crubaugh and Becky Swanson each had two hits for the Pioneers.
Edgewood improved to 19-9, while the Pioneers fell to 10-16.
UWP plays its last home games Thursday, hosting UW-Oshkosh at 3 p.m.
