UW-Platteville capped a big soccer week with an 8-0 shutout over visiting Waldorf Sunday afternoon.

The Pioneers, who beat UW-La Crosse for the first-time ever Wednesday and snapped an 0-16 streak at UW-Oshkosh Friday with a tie, rolled up their most goals in three years.

Allie Metcalfe and Kimmy Trapp both scored twice for UWP, with Metcalfe's coming in the first half and Trapp's in the second. who improved to 4-3-2 overall. Anna Strasser and Kim Schneckloth added first-half goals, while Sarah Gengler and Amber Taylor scored in the second. Both Trapp and Steph Pittz were credited for two assists. The Pioneers outshot the Warriors 31-7, including 18-2 on goal.

The Pioneers, who scored their highest total since beating MSOE 9-0 in 2006, improved to 4-3-2. The visitors from Iowa fell to 4-5-1.

UWP challenges powerhouse UW-Eau Claire Wednesday in Eau Claire, then plays host to UW-Stout Saturday at 4 p.m.
