UW-Platteville suffered its first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference defeat Wednesday, losing 6-1 at UW-Eau Claire.

The first-place Blugolds (5-2-1 overall, 3-0 WIAC) scored four first-period goals, with Ali Mater scoring twice.

The Pioneers cut the margin to 4-1 on Marissa Mol's first goal, assisted by Steph Pittz, with just under five minutes remaining in the first half, but the Blugolds scored two more in the second half to put the game away.

UWP had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 4-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the WIAC. The Pioneers play host to UW-Stout Saturday at 4 p.m.
