Beloit College edged UW-Platteville 2-1 Friday in the fist round of the Warrior Cup at Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee.
Anna Blankschien scored twice for the Buccaneers, including the game-winner in the 85th minute. The Pioneers' Allie Metcalfe scored in the 80th minute to tie the contest.
"It was very frustrating," acting UWP Coach Allison Sanyi said, noting the Pioneers missed many scoring chances. "Hopefully we'll come back strong tomorrow."
The Pioneers play Bethany Lutheran at 1 p.m. Saturday.
