Anna Strasser scored twice, including the game-winner in the second overtime, lifting UW-Platteville to a 2-1 win over visiting Ashford Tuesday night.
Allie Metcalfe lifted a pefect centering pass from the left corner, and Strasser booted home the game-winner with 4:38 remaining in the second sudden-death period.
The pair clicked earlier from the right side of the field, as Strasser took the Metcalfe pass and shot low past the keeper in the 66th minute.
The freshman Strasser became just the sixth player in Pioneer history with 10 goals in a season, while Metcalfe tied the UWP season mark with her seventh assist. Metcalfe, in her junior year, is already the second-leading scorer in UWP history with 70 points (29 goals and 12 assists).
Abbye Garcia scored in the 84th minute for Ashford (now 11-5).
The Pioneers (7-8-2) play host to UW-River Falls Saturday at 6 p.m. in a key WIAC game. UWP needs to win in order to qualify for the six-team conference tournament.
