UW-Platteville and St. Ambrose battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie Thursday night at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers came up with two big saves late in the game to preserve the shutout. Defender Meghan Murphy made a stop on the goal line with nine minutes remaining, and goalkeeper Hannah Krier stopped the Bees' Sam Cohen in the first overtime. SAU outshot the Pioneers 11-8, including 4-2 on goal. Karen Bublitz had both Pioneer shots on goal.
The Pioneers are now 6-5-2 overall, and the Bees are 4-6-2 after having their four-game win streak stopped.
UW-Platteville plays at Coe College Sunday at 1 p.m.
