UW-Whitewater scored 20 seconds before halftime and made that goal stand up for a 1-0 victory over visiting UW-Platteville Wednesday.
Alyssa Spaude put in the game's lone goal at the 44:40 mark. The Pioneers' best chance for a goal came off the foot of Sarah Miller, who was stopped by Amy Bailey. Laurie Trifone made seven saves for the Pioneers.
The Warhawks improved to 10-6-1 overall and remained in third place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 4-2-1 mark. The Pioneers fell to 3-10-4, 1-4-1.
UW-Platteville visits defending conference champion UW-Eau Claire Saturday in Eau Claire.
