After a scramble in front of the net, UW-Stout's Michelle Hahn headed home a goal in the 70th minute as the Blue Devils beat the Pioneers 1-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
The Blue Devils improved to 2-4 overall, while the Pioneers fell to 1-2-3 in the defensive struggle. Only five shots on goal were attempted, with the Pioneers holding the lead in overall shots, 7-4.
UWP returns to action, and conference play, next Saturday at UW-Superior.
