Laurie Trifone had a 0.56 GAA

UW-Platteville's Laurie Trifone earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week award.

Trifone (Sr., Dubuque/Wahlert) played 310 minutes in the net and allowed just two goals for UW-Platteville. She shut out Augustana College (Ill.) for 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie, then held University of Dubuque to one goal in 110 minutes the next night in a 1-1 draw. The Spartans had been averaging more than five goals per game, while starting the season 4-0. Trifone yielded one goal to UW-Stout off a corner kick in a 1-0 setback on Saturday.

Trifone was honored twice in 2005 by the conference as athlete of the week.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday at UW-Superior, then face Coe Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
