The UW-Platteville women's soccer team posted its first victory of the young season, blanking Wisconsin Lutheran 2-0 Wednesday night in Milwaukee.
Ashly Hamilton, on an assist from Jolene Eck, scored in the first half, and Paula Duerst added an insurance goal in the second period, helping the Pioneers to a 1-1 record. Wisconsin Lutheran fell to 0-3 on the season.
The Pioneers controlled play throughout the road game, out-shooting the Warriors 13-2 and taking 12 corner kicks to none for WLC.
UWP returns to the brew city Thursday, facing Milwaukee School of Engineering in another 7 p.m. contest.
